Setting Goals for 2015

10 Habits For Your Most Vibrant LifeI like the feelings of a new year. It’s kind of how I feel about mornings or Mondays. New journeys can begin. There is potential. Change seems inevitable. We can make anything of ourselves.

I am a BIG fan of Danielle LaPorte’s style of goal setting. And so today, on this page, I evaluate and share my own goals for 2015. For you unaware of LaPorte, her approach is to begin with how do you want to feel? Once you get down to the nitty gritty of how you want to feel, create goals from there.

What is the one word you would use to describe how you want your health to feel?

VIBRANT

That is the word I choose for myself. What makes me feel that way?

Doing my best, first and foremost.

Kettlebell training is great for fat loss, strength training, explosive power, and muscle building.Sweaty kettlebell workouts with rad people, who push me to do/be better, lift heavier, squeeze tighter, dig deeper, and surpass what I think I’m capable of.

Talking with like-minded people passionately about food and health. And there are the vendors. Talking to farmers. Visiting farms. Developing a connection to my food source. To the good-hearted people raising and growing it.

Sobremesa: (n.) the time spent around the table after lunch or dinner, talking to the people you shared the meal with; time to digest and savor both food and friendship.Cooking. Being in the kitchen. Creating. Food prep. Delicious smells. Making food that tastes and feels good. That fuels me. That I feel unashamed of. Food I feel proud of.

A yoga mat may be the one place where a child feels able and strong, self-aware and comfortable in their own skin.Yoga flow. When I surrender. When I sink deeper into a pose. Deeper into mindfulness. When I connect mind, body, and soul. When I’m flexible.

Hiking to the top of Prospect Mtn. in the Adirondacks.  I feel as though I can touch heaven.HIKING. My favorite thing to do. To immerse myself in the trees and let them filter out the bullshit. Get connected. Get grounded. Take action.

If you feel stressed in the mornings, if you're groggy and low on energy, this 10 minute routine will revitalise you and transform the way you feel.Meditate. Ah, get that mind right Breathe. Let go. Unwind. De-stress. Breathe some more.

Now do it. Every day. Every week. Do the things that make you feel vibrant. Or however it is you want to feel. Cook local, nourishing foods. Go for a hike. Sit on my meditation pillow and get my zen on. Make time for yoga. Lift heavy things with inspiring people. Make it happen. Now today, for each of these 365 days. Steps toward a vibrantly healthy you.
